Kids Birthday Party Games Using Balloons
Water Balloon Toss
Outdoors
What You Need: Filled water balloons
Players: Pairs
Break into pairs and form a line on the grass. Start close together and toss the balloon from one partner to another. With each complete catch¸ line 1 takes a step back. The goal is to catch the balloon without popping it. When the water balloon pops, a pair is out. The last pair with their balloon intact wins.Water Balloon Relay
Outdoors
What You Need: Water balloons
Players: Teams of at least 4 players each
Divide the players into teams and have them line up for a relay race. Place a chair several yards down in front of each team. The first player in each line holds the water balloon between their elbows. They run down the line, around the chair, and race back to pass the balloon, without using hands, to their teammate. They run to the end of the line and sit down when they’ve completed their turn. If a player pops the balloon, they must stop in their tracks and wait for an adult helper to bring another water balloon. If a player drops the water balloon, but it does not pop, they must pick it up with their elbows and continue the race. The first team to have all players seated wins.
Back-to-Back Balloon Burst
Indoors/Outdoors
What You Need: Inflated balloons
Players: Pairs
Divide into teams of two. Have the pairs form a line back to back, holding a balloon between their backs. Give the “Go!” signal. Players squeeze together, attempting to burst their balloon. The first team to pop its balloon wins or you can play until all the balloons pop.
Stuff the Balloons
Indoors
What You Need: Inflated balloons (not too big), baggy pants, baggy t-shirt
Players: Teams
Separate your birthday party guests into teams. Each team selects one player to wear the baggy pants and shirt. When the teams hears the theme music begin, the selected player races to put on the baggy outfit while their teammates gather up balloons. The idea is to stuff the baggy suit with as many balloons as possible in just two minutes.
When the music ends, each team counts the balloons they stuffed into the baggy outfit. The team with the most balloons is the winner.
Balloon Pass-n-Pop Relay
Outdoors
What You Need: Inflated balloons
Players: Teams
Separate the party-goers into two teams. Form two lines facing in one direction. The first player of each line has the balloon at the start of the relay. When the teams hear the word “Go!” they race to pass the balloon under the legs and over the head (alternating players – under-over-under-over, etc.) of all the players. The last person sits on the balloon to pop it. The first team to pop the balloon wins. Quote this article on your site
